1891 The Shangguan Clan
Zhuo Yun pointed at a vast open field. A small plane could be seen on it.
It was none other than Prof Min’s plane.
They had no idea how the plane ended up here at all. After all, they were in a strange place that could not even be accurately located using the navigation system.
“Let’s go over and take a look,” said Min Yu as he narrowed his eyes.
“Okay.” Zhuo Yun snapped out of his thoughts and turned to tell his subordinates to check on the plane.
Although they came last minute, they had all the weapons and equipment they needed just in case.
Before long, a group of men had already gotten to the plane.
The plane door was shut. Zhuo Yun raised his hand. The men behind him raised their weapons one after another. They went closer to the plane as they went toward the door.
Zhuo Yun quietly walked up to the cabin door. He pushed it first before he retrieved a metallic object from nowhere and opened the door effortlessly.
He flipped deftly and got into the plane.
Before long, Zhuo Yun jumped off the plane with a solemn look on his face. “No one’s inside.”
A serious look emerged in Min Yu’s eyes. He had already seen this coming. He looked at Huo Yao. “Is this where the Shangguan clan lives?”
Although she said nothing the entire way, it was easy enough to know.
This unknown forest was located on the southern end of the country and contained mechanisms and formations. Just these two points alone had said enough.
Huo Yao was unsurprised by Min Yu’s questions. She shook her head and said, “Nope, but we’re in the right place.”
“The Shangguan clan?” said Myron in astonishment. “Are you talking about the mysterious clan with the medical skills to bring the dead back to life?”
In reality, Cloud Realm had very little information about the Shangguan clan in its archives. Myron simply knew they were a secretive clan. Also, they had astounding medical skills and were able to bring the dead back to life. However, no one knew the family’s exact location no matter how they tried to find them.
Since Cloud Realm was unable to find out more, he always thought that the Shangguan clan was just a legend and did not really exist.
Huo Yao smiled ambiguously looking at Myron. “Bring the dead back to life? It’s just a rumor. How could you believe it?”
Myron promptly detected her disdain and went quiet.
Myron cleared his throat and automatically disregarded God of Wealth’s looks of contempt. He simply spoke knowingly. “This means that the Shangguan clan really exists then.”
In hindsight, thinking about the way they entered the forest, and the complicated path they took, it would be insane if regular people could find their way around.
Myron tutted and looked at Huo Yao. “But God of… You seem to know the place well. Do you have something to do with the Shangguan clan?”
Huo Yao did not answer him. Instead, she walked straight toward the village entrance.
Myron automatically touched his nose. He hurriedly followed behind her.
Zhuo Yun was still standing in the same spot. When he finally realized what Huo Yao and Myron were saying, a look of disbelief appeared on his face. “Is this…”
Min Yu raised his hand and seemed to know what Zhuo Yun was thinking. He simply said unhurriedly, “Come with me. The rest of you will stay to keep watch.”
Zhuo Yun suppressed the questions racing through his mind. He looked at his boss and quickly understood his orders. He nodded and acknowledged Min Yu.
Since the clan was surrounded in secrecy with zero contact with the outside world, it naturally did not appreciate getting disturbed.
Before long, the four of them got to the village entrance.
Under a tall and large banyan tree, an old-looking stone tablet could be seen. The words “Serene Village” appearing on it looked weather-worn.
At a close look, the words were still visible.
Zhuo Yun looked at the village’s name and felt it was a very meaningful name. However, the place was very rural and probably very backward.
Unexpectedly, after entering the village, Zhuo Yun felt as though he was a country bumpkin.
